Westmont Pharmacy Specializes in Veterinary Compounding. Even though some veterinary offices offer to compound your pets medication for you, they may not always have the ingredients in stock, causing you and your pet to wait for relief. We have all of the most common veterinary compound ingredients in stock and can usually make your compound in less than one day. We realize some medications may need to be made by your veterinarian, but, we can certainly help if your pet needs a specialized medication at a fair price. Some of the most common veterinary medications we compound are: Levothyroxine, Potassium Bromide, Amitriptyline, Metronidazole, Methimazole and many more. We can compound into many forms including but not limited to: capsules, liquids, creams, chews and more.
We also compound medications for humans. Compounded medications allow your doctor to customize dosage, make your medication into a form that is easier for you to take, or create a dose that is not usually manufactured. We compound everything from Gentamicin, Vancomycin Liquid, to topical analgesic creams, rectal and vaginal suppositories, and various troches. But that's not all! We can order many ingredients and compound whatever you may need! Call Ron today to inquire about your next compounded prescription!!

-We also repair medical equipment either in store, or on site Monday through Friday.
-We deliver and repair all over Westmont, Downers Grove, Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Darien, Willowbrook, Lombard and the surrounding areas.
-Delivery of medication and most equipment can be made same day if called in before 10:30AM.
-Any calls for delivery after 11:00AM will be delivered the next business day.
-Larger pieces of equipment such as Lift Chairs, Hospital Beds, Patient Lifts, and some others may take at least 24 hours to schedule and deliver as they may need to be ordered.
-Some items require a delivery fee.
-Repairs are scheduled on a case by case basis. If repairs are done in the store they must be within the hours that repair men are available. Certain repairs will require the equipment to be left overnight (for example, scooters may need to be left for diagnostic purposes.) If repair is done in the home, the repair men may need to bring the equipment back to the store to properly fix the equipment unless the necessary materials are available on the truck.
-Repair labor rates outside of the store are based on a $60 service call charge, this includes: the service call, and the first 1/2 hour of labor. If the repair takes longer than 30 minutes you will be charged based on $60 per hour. i.e. a total repair of 45 minutes will cost you $60 for the service call and first 30 minutes and an additional $15 for the extra 15 minutes. You will be charged for parts based on their cost to us and applicable state taxes. Labor and service call charges are not taxed.
-Repair labor rates inside the store are based on $60 per hour for labor. You will be charged for parts based on their cost to us and applicable state taxes. i.e. a rollator walker brake job that takes 15 minutes will cost you the parts needed for repair and $15 for the 15 minutes of labor time. (A side note, repairs that take less than 10 minutes may not be charged labor depending on how difficult the repair)
3) UNIT DOSE
Weekly medication blister packs are available for your convenience and safety. The cost to have the medication dispensed in this manner is $0.25 per medication, per week. The total cost for a patient taking four (4) medications a day would be $1.00 a week or $4.00 per month.
Why Unit Dose? Are you a good candidate for unit dosing?
-Unit dosing takes the "guesswork" out of taking your medications. Taking multiple medications daily can be confusing and unsafe if one doesn't remember what medications were already taken or perhaps not yet taken. Our blister packs divide your daily medications by "morning", "noon", "evening", and "bedtime". This way, one can see what medications have been taken or missed.
-Unit dosing is also beneficial to those with arthritic hands, who have trouble opening bottle after bottle of medication. Having your medications blister packed allows just punching the medications through the foil backing, instead of opening multiple bottles.
-Unit dosing also may make the difference between independent living and assisted living. Often, seniors are completely independent but, take many medications which can not only be confusing but also can be difficult to open and administer. Having your medications unit dosed can allow you to maintain your independence instead of hiring help or moving into assisted living.
-Call us today to set up your very own dose packed medication!
